All areas of student development are important. At St. Rose of Lima School we believe that the foundations in Academics and Faith the we provide to our students are key to their success in high school and beyond. In addition to Academics and Faith, we also believe that Athletics serves a critical role in student wellness. Being part of one of our Athletic Teams as a St. Rose of Lima Falcon teaches teamwork, time management and fair play, builds self esteem and confidence, and builds a strong community with children from different grades who might not normally have the chance to know each other. Our Athletics Programs offer unique learning opportunities that are different from the things learned in the classrooms.
We currently offer the following Athletic programs at St. Rose of Lima School
Program | Season | Grade Levels |
Cross Country (Boys and Girls) | Fall | 4th – 8th |
Basketball (Boys and Girls) | Winter | 3rd – 8th |
Cheerleading | Winter | 3rd – 8th |
Track and Field (Boys and Girls) | Spring | 4th – 8th |
Our all-volunteer crew of coaches work hard all year to develop worthwhile athletics programs that allow children of all skill levels to learn, participate and excel in their sport(s). All students are encouraged to participate in our sports programs — even if it is in a sport that they have not played before!
Sports Registrations
Family ID is the online platform we use for Sports Registrations. Students in all grades are required to register for sports on Family ID here. You may notice some changes to Family ID this year.
- Family ID paperwork: There is a questionnaire and documents that need to be digitally signed on Family ID. Please make sure when signing the documents, you pay attention to who needs to sign– parent or student.
- Payment: After completing registration, you will be sent to a page that allows you to pay for that season’s sport. If there is a concern with payment, please reach out to the athletic committee where alternate arrangements can be made. athletics@strosenj.com
- Allergies & Medical Information: Coaches do not have access to allergy or medical information. Please let coaches know of any medical concerns that you think it would be beneficial for them to be aware of.
Sports Physicals Forms
Students in grades 6 through 8 are required to fill out multiple physical forms prior to sports participation. Required forms and an explanation can be found here. Once the paperwork is complete, the nurse will issue a clearance in Family ID so the coaches can access the list of students who have been cleared. A hard copy of the needed paperwork should be given to the nurse 2 weeks PRIOR to the start of the season. No one will be allowed to participate in practices or games/meets until the nurse receives the proper paperwork. All other paperwork is completed online via Family ID. Any questions, email nurses@strosenj.com. Please note that students in Grades 3 – 5 who participate in sports do not need to complete the physical paperwork. This requirement begins in grade 6.
Registration Fees
St. Rose of Lima sports fees were changed in the 2024-2025 school year for the first time since 2015. With increased costs of referee fees, uniforms, gym maintenance, tournaments, etc. the committee received approval to change the way we charge for athletics. You will notice in Family ID, all sport registration fees are based on per student/per sport. There is no family cap. Please reach out to the Athletic Committee if there is a hardship or arrangements need to be made. athletics@strosenj.com.
