All areas of student development are important. At St. Rose of Lima School we believe that the foundations in Academics and Faith the we provide to our students are key to their success in high school and beyond. In addition to Academics and Faith, we also believe that Athletics serves a critical role in student wellness. Being part of one of our Athletic Teams as a St. Rose of Lima Falcon teaches teamwork, time management and fair play, builds self esteem and confidence, and builds a strong community with children from different grades who might not normally have the chance to know each other. Our Athletics Programs offer unique learning opportunities that are different from the things learned in the classrooms.
We currently offer the following Athletic programs at St. Rose of Lima School
Program | Season | Grade Levels |
Cross Country (Boys and Girls) | Fall | 4th – 8th |
Basketball (Boys and Girls) | Winter | 5th – 8th |
Cheerleading (Girls) | Winter | 5th – 8th |
Track and Field (Boys and Girls) | Spring | 4th – 8th |
Our all-volunteer crew of coaches work hard all year to develop worthwhile athletics programs that allow children of all skill levels to learn, participate and excel in their sport(s). All students are encouraged to participate in our sports programs — even if it is in a sport that they have not played before!
Sports Registrations
All sports registration is now done online via Family ID. All athletes are required to be registered and pay the Athletic fee (see below) on Family ID. This should be completed 2 weeks PRIOR to the start of the sports’ season.
Athletic Fees
There is an annual athletics fee of $135.00 for the first child per family who is registering for a sport. This is the fee for the entire year no matter how many sports he or she participates in. The annual athletics fee for the second child in a family is $85.00. Athletics fees are capped at $220.00 per family per year. If you have more than two children, and have already paid $220.00 in Athletics fees for the year, additional children may register for no additional fee.
Sports Physical Paperwork
Students in grades 6 through 8 are required to submit Sports Physical Paperwork to the nurses’ office before they may start participating in a sport. A hard copy of the sports physical paperwork should be given to the nurse 2 weeks PRIOR to the start of the season. All other paperwork is completed online via Family ID. Any questions, email nurses@strosenj.com.
